Cottman Transmission Allentown Pennsylvania

Complaint: I would never go back to these people again. I had the worst experience there, like another user said – they ARE con artists. I called Cottman up and took my car in, only to have them look at it for5 minutes and tell me the timing belt is the problem (in reality, everyone knows it does not take 5 minutes to look at a timing belt). I had no problem with this ‘diagnosis’, until the guy told me that it would cost between $800-1,000 to get it repaired. In a state of shock, the guy insisted that I max my credit card if I didn’t have the money to repair it. He didn’t bother to work with me, instead of thinking I am a poor college student who needs an HONEST answer on what the problem may be on an affordable budget, he looked at me as a sucker. I was so upset (in tears at this point) that I spoke with my uncle (who is a mechanic) that told me the honest truth behind all this – that they wanted me out of there quick and wanted to rip me off all on the same note. I am guessing they didn’t take me seriously because I am a college student with a 14 year old car just trying to get by. My mother even pointed out that she saw Shawn and the service “technician”” exchange funny looks on how “”pitiful”” my car was. Well
