National Car Rental Glastonbury Connecticut

Complaint: Dropped off the rental car on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 4:00 AM – Labor Day weekend. At the time of drop off there was no damage of the car. Four people inspected the car and found it to be excellent condition. The car was dropped off before business hours as we had a flight at 6:00 AM. At 5:08 AM, the car was checked in by National. At 6:10 PM, we received a call from National at Jacksonville FL airport stating that there was damage to the car. I asked for a description of the damange and picture. The employee stated that there was damage to the bumper, and that he had no pictures. He told me that he was going put in a claim without getting into any details with me. He stated that I was resposnsible for the condition of the car until it was checked in. I asked where the car was located so I could send someone to take a look. I was told that it was already in repair. In repair on a Sunday of a long weekend? Sounds fishy to me. After multiple calls to resolve this issue, I have not been able to get anywhere. They are secretive and do not give out much informaiton. Their party line is I’m responsible for the car until it is checked in by one of their employees. I have filed a police report with the Jacksonville FL police department, as this was a “hit and run””.”
