I live in Texas and buy tickets for almost every big event. All in all I have over 400 orders on Ticketmaster in the last few years, some in other states. When I was purchasing tickets for the Dallas Mavericks the other day, I purchased about 40 different games and before I clicked submit order it said $14.43. I was billed $14.47 on all my orders. This additional 4 cents per order was never disclosed, EVER. When I called to complain I was transferred to 4 different agents who all had no clue. I eventually spoke with someone in Virginia who told me that there must be an error in the system and that this is the first time she has heard of this and that I would be refunded the overage. One small problem, I called a year ago regarding the same problem, was told the same line, and never received the refund on the few additional pennies added to each order. My concern is that, for Texas orders (because it only happens on select events in Texas) Ticketmaster is raking in 2-8 pennies extra per order. When you stop to think about it and multiply that by the hundreds of thousands of orders they receive in Texas per day, you are talking multi-millions of dollars being swindled. It is my firm belief that they are doing this knowingly since most people aren’t going to complain to their credit card company about a few pennies. It doesn’t happen for all events in Texas but I’d say 80% of them. For example. I bought tickets for the Mavs/Utah game on 1/17 and wasn’t charged any overages, but I bought tickets for the game on 11/11 and was charged 2 pennies more than what was disclosed when I purchased. nRyannDallas, TexasU.S.A.
